Brinjal grows well in a variety of soil conditions, including light sandy soil, rich loamy soil, clay loamy soil, and silty loamy soil. However, silt loamy and clay loamy soil are preferred for greater yield, and the soil must be well-drained and fertile, with a pH of 5.0 to 6.0.

In terms of climatic circumstances, the brinjal plant produces more when temps range from 21°C to 28°C; however, it is susceptible to mild frost.
