Adama Barazide (Novaluron 5.25% + Emamectin Benzoate 0.9% SC) is an effective treatment for a wide range of lepidopteran pests that can result in substantial yield losses. Barazide works in both directions. It disrupts the neuromuscular process at the nerve-muscle junction, resulting in permanent muscle contraction inhibition, paralysis, and insect mortality.
It also affects biochemical processes and functions as a chitin inhibitor within the insect, causing abortive molting. As a result, the insect cannot progress to the next instar stage and eventually expires.
Novaluron is a new pesticide chemical that belongs to the insecticide family known as insect growth regulators. (IGR). IGRs kill insects slowly over a few days by interfering with the usual growth and development of immature insects.
Emamectin benzoate is a new crop protection insecticide with a novel mode of action, strong activity against Lepidoptera, and high selectivity for beneficial organisms. This molecule has some contact action and works when swallowed. It penetrates leaf tissues and creates a reservoir within the leaf (translaminar activity).
