Utkarsh CaLong Calcium improves the strength of the cell walls, resulting in improved shelf life and resistance to disease. Calong improves the transportability of agricultural products like fruits and flowers, thereby increasing their commercial value. Calong that has been chelated is inert and keeps the vital calcium readily available to plants without permitting the normal chemical interactions that occur in the soil and within plant tissues.
Many soils are deficient in calcium, which is an essential element of the plant. Crops grown on these soils suffer heavily, resulting in low yields. Farmers can easily overcome this problem with foliar sprays of chelated calcium (10%).
Calcium deficiency typically manifests itself in young leaves, near the growing points of stems, and in the roots. The young leaves may be severely distorted, with the tips hooked back and the margins curled backward or forward. With spectacular die-back of stems near the growing points, the leaf margins may show brown scorching or spotting effects. These effects are most noticeable in tomato and celery plants. Calcium deficiencies normally appear during the rapid growth, flowering, and/or fruiting stages. One example of a calcium deficiency is blossom end rot. Calcium chelate should be applied in multiple applications to help meet the plant’s calcium needs.
