Bayer Regent Ultra Insecticide (Fipronil 0.6% GR) is a phenyl pyrazole insecticide based on fipronil that is particularly efficient against stem borer and leaf folder in rice. It not only successfully prevents pests but also improves plant growth by increasing root growth and the number of productive tillers, resulting in larger yields.
Fipronil has both contact and ingestion action, however ingestion is more efficacious. Soon after therapy, an intermediate reaction, such as feeding cessation, may be observed. Fipronil's mode of action distinguishes it from most commercial pesticides.
A novel application insecticide in the phenyl pyrazole family. Recent uses have shown clear Plant Growth Enhancement (PGE) effects in several crops, making it an attractive candidate for plant growth enhancement. Bayer Regent Ultra Insecticide Mode of Action:
Acts primarily as an oral toxin with some complementary contact activity and interferes with nerve impulse transmission. It disrupts CNS function and, at high enough concentrations, causes insect death by interfering with the flow of chloride ions through the GABA-regulated chloride channel.
