➔ Product description -
1. The nematophagous fungus Verticillium chlamydosporium produces a chymoelastase-like protease which hydrolyses host nematode proteins in situ.

2. The nematophagous fungus Verticillium chlamydosporium secreted several proteases in a submerged culture in which soya peptone was the sole carbon and nitrogen source.

3. One protease, VCP1 (M(r) 33,000, pI 10.2), was purified 14-fold from culture filtrates to apparent homogeneity using preparative isoelectric focusing in free solution and shown.

4. The nematophagous fungus, Verticillium chlamydosporium, has considerable potential as a biological control agent for root-knot nematodes on a range of crops.

5. The fungus is a general facultative parasite that attacks the eggs of several nematode species.

➔ Control pests - Root Knott Nematodes, Reniform Nematodes, and Citrus Nematodes.

➔ Applicable crops - Tomato, Brinjal, Carrot, Okra, Chillies, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Cucurbits, Beetroot, Paddy, Cotton, Sugarcane, Wheat, Sorghum, Sunflower, Groundnut, Ginger, Turmeric, Legumes, Rose, Gerbera, etc.

➔ Dosage -
Seed treatment: 7 gm per kg of seeds, properly mix it and shade dry before sowing.
2 kg per acre either drip/conventional system or mix with 300-500 kg Farm Yard Manure, incubate it, and finally broadcast the field.
