Bayer Planofix - Alpha Naphthyl Acetic Acid 4.5 SL (4.5% ww) Increase and Improving the Quality and Yield Of Fruits, Reduces Pre-Harvest Berry Drop
Planofix is an aqueous solution containing 4.5% (w/w) of alpha-naphthyl acetic acid as the active ingredient. It is a plant growth regulator used for the purpose of inducing flowering and preventing the shedding of flower buds and unripe fruits. It aids in fruit enlargement as well as increasing and improving fruit quality and yield. Planofix, when sprayed on plants, prevents the formation of an abscission layer by suppressing the ethylene gas produced and thereby preventing the shedding of flowers, buds, and fruits.
Planofix It has several advantages
The natural shedding of squares, cotton balls, vegetable flowers, chilies, and mango fruits is prevented.
It reduces grape berry drop before harvest.
Increases fruit size in pineapple and grapes.
Mode of application - Spray
Dose - 1 mL Planofix in 4.5 l water = 10 ppm standard solution
10 ml of Planofix in 4.5 L of water = 100 ppm
Should be sprayed during the cool part of the day.
Despite being compatible with the majority of pesticides, individual application yields good results.
Pineapple:
➜Apply just before expected flowering.
➜Drench the whole fruit, but avoid letting the spray drift onto the young crop.
➜Again, wet the whole fruit 2 weeks before harvest.
Tomato:
➜At the time of flowering, apply twice.
Chilies:
➜First spray during flowering.
➜A follow-up spray 20–30 days after the first two applications
Mango:
➜Begin spraying when the tender fruits are the size of peas.
➜Malformation before fruit bud differentiation (approximately 3 months before flowering)
Grapes:
➜First spray at pruning;
➜Second spray when flowering starts.
Grapes: To prevent berry drop, spray on mature grape branches 10–15 days before harvesting.
